The 1985 GPz 750R, also sold as the ZX 750R, kept the four-valve, liquid-cooled 748 cc engine and the GPz900R-derived chassis of the 1984 launch year. A magazine piece on the bike notes that it delivered power in the same way as the 900 but with less output, and that its top speed was close to 130 mph. Production ran for about three years before the GPX 750R replaced it in 1987.
